Twitter's Head of Trust and Safety, Ella Irwin, Steps Down

Twitter’s Head of Trust and Safety, Ella Irwin, has officially resigned, as confirmed by her in an interview with Reuters. This departure marks the exit of one of Elon Musk’s key executives at Twitter. Taking over from Yoel Roth in November, after his earlier resignation, Irwin’s tenure has seen its fair share of challenges. Notably, Twitter faced scrutiny for its perceived inaction in curbing child exploitation during this time. In addition, there were reports of Irwin sharing internal Twitter information with Bari Weiss as part of the “Twitter Files” reports, and allegedly being involved in the banning of Twitter accounts that shared details about Musk’s private jet.

Interestingly, neither Irwin nor Musk have made any public announcements regarding her resignation on Twitter. It remains uncertain who will assume the vacant position or whether a potential candidate is already being considered. Perhaps this will be a task for incoming CEO Linda Yaccarino to address and resolve.
