With M2 chip… Apple introduces the latest and fastest versions of the MacBook

The new laptops mark Apple's first expansion of the M2 chip, which debuted in last year's benchmark MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

Apple launched its latest and fastest new products with M2 chip for the year 2023, as it offers faster versions of the advanced “MacBook Pro” laptops and the “Mac Mini” desktop computer.

M2 chip VS M1 chip

The new 14-inch and 16-inch “MacBook Pro” devices look similar to the previous models that were launched at the end of 2021, but they added more powerful “M2 Pro” and “M2 Max” chips to replace M1 Max and M1 Pro processors.

The new laptops mark Apple’s first expansion of the M2 chip, which debuted in last year’s benchmark MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

New Macs support the product line, which generated $40.2 billion last year, accounting for more than 10% of the tech giant’s revenue.

The company also plans to introduce a variety of the M2 chip into the high-end Mac Pro desktop computer later this year. Apple is working on new versions of the MacBook Air, including a larger 15-inch model.

Apple continues to shift away from using Intel processors in its Mac computers. The M2 Pro will now run up to 12 main processing cores (which is an indicator of performance), which is higher than the previous 10 cores. Graphics capabilities will now be up to 19 cores, up from 16 cores in the previous model. The M2 Max doubles the graphics performance, rising to up to 38 cores from a maximum of 32 cores previously.

The new laptops also have the advantage of boosting memory, up to a maximum of 96 GB for models equipped with the M2 Max chip, 32 GB higher than previous computers.

The storage capacity has increased rapidly by 8 terabytes. Battery life has been increased slightly, to 18 hours from 17 hours in the 14-inch model and up to 22 hours from 21 hours in the 16-inch version.
