Twitter Reduces Wait Time for New Accounts to Subscribe to Twitter Blue to 30 Days

It has also shortened the cooling-off period for new accounts to purchase Twitter Blue from 90 days to 30 days.

Twitter has made some significant changes to its Twitter Blue subscription program. The social media company announced that the paid plan is now available for purchase worldwide. It has also shortened the cooling-off period for new accounts to purchase Twitter Blue from 90 days to 30 days.

Initially, the subscription plan was rolled out with a verification mark feature, but it was quickly withdrawn due to an influx of impersonations by accounts. To prevent this from happening again, Twitter put in place a 90-day waiting period for newly created accounts to subscribe to Twitter Blue. However, this has now been reduced to a 30-day waiting period for new accounts.

Twitter Blue is accessible globally, including on the web, iOS, and Android platforms. However, not all features are available on all platforms. The Twitter Blue page also highlights that the company reserves the right to impose waiting periods for new accounts in the future, without notice, at its discretion.

Meanwhile, the verification checkmark feature is also undergoing changes, with legacy verification checkmarks set to be phased out from April 1. Previously, these Blue marks were used to highlight notable figures such as politicians, journalists, and activists. However, Twitter is now urging people and organizations to subscribe to Twitter Blue to get a verification mark.

It is important to note that Twitter’s verified organization service costs $1,000 per month, with an additional fee of $50 per affiliate to indicate that the person is associated with the organization.
