Bard

The official launch of the conversational robot “Bard”

Google announced on Monday the launch of the “Bard” bot that uses artificial intelligence for conversation in beta, a few months after the launch of the “ChatGPT” program pioneered by the startup OpenAi. American.

The announcement comes two days after our site published a report in which it indicated, based on information and speculation from informed media sources, that the issue of Google launching a competing product for “ChatGPT” is a matter of time and that it is currently working to ensure the credibility of its products before opening the way for it to be tried by the public.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, said in a statement that the robot aims to “combine the breadth of knowledge in the world on the one hand with the power, intelligence, and innovation of Google’s language programs on the other.

He noted that the program “will draw on information found online to provide up-to-date, high-quality answers.”

This “Bard” method differs from that of “ChatGPT”, which relies on a database to collect its information rather than on the Internet.

“Bard” will be more like a traditional search engine like the “Google” engine, and the “Google” chatbot will have the ability, for example, to “explain the latest discoveries of the NASA James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old child.”

“Bard” is based on LaMDA, a computer program designed by Google to run chatbots, and the “Mountain View” group announced the launch of the first version of it in 2021.

The “LaMDA” program gained fame in June 2022, when Google engineer Blake Lemoine confirmed that artificial intelligence programs had become “perceptive,” in remarks that received great criticism in the technological community, which he considered absurd and premature.
