The latest inventions of technology companies.. Virtual reality control gloves equipped with tactile feedback

Technology companies and well-known names in particular are competing to develop the best and latest virtual reality glasses with superior technical capabilities, and many startups are working in parallel to provide accessories that make it a truly immersive experience. After virtual reality shoes are equipped with motion capture sensors, the new one comes this time with virtual reality control gloves (Contact Gloves).

Contact Gloves is a glove-shaped (VR) controller equipped with haptic feedback and highly accurate hand tracking. Through button inputs and traditional VR controllers, Contact Gloves enable a truly immersive VR experience.

These controller replacement gloves use small memory alloy coils to provide tactile feedback that operates through electronic circuits, consisting of a tubular film wrapping the finger and memory alloy-wrapped alloys. The use of shape-memory alloys allows the device to be more compact while reproducing a more realistic feel than current gloves that use vibration motors.

The glove unit not only captures finger movements but also reproduces button and stick operations through finger movements, allowing for a more intuitive VR experience.

The glove’s battery lasts 6 hours without tactile feedback, compared to 2 hours in working mode, and charges in 2.5 hours.

The virtual reality control gloves won the Innovation Award at the CES Consumer Electronics Show, and are available for pre-order for $500, with shipping and delivery starting in July 2023.
