Meta, the American tech giant, has announced the release of a new Windows PC application for its popular instant messaging service, WhatsApp

Meta, the American tech giant, has announced the release of a new Windows PC application for its popular instant messaging service, WhatsApp. The company has emphasized that while WhatsApp began as a mobile application, it has expanded to other devices and platforms, and the new application for Windows PCs is a step towards improving the messaging and calling experience across various devices.

According to Meta, the new WhatsApp application for Windows PCs is characterized by fast downloading and a design that includes a familiar interface for both WhatsApp and Windows users. Additionally, the application allows for group video calls with up to 8 people and voice calls with up to 32 people. The company has also emphasized that WhatsApp provides a fully encrypted experience between two parties, meaning messages, media, and personal calls are always end-to-end encrypted, across all devices.

Meta has stated that it will continue to work on increasing the number of devices that support WhatsApp, and it has recently launched a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android tablets. Additionally, the company plans to release a new, faster app for Mac computers from Apple in the future.

The announcement of the new Windows PC application for WhatsApp comes less than 24 hours after the launch of a new tool in WhatsApp that increases the ability of moderators to control groups. With these new developments, Meta continues to listen to feedback and make improvements to WhatsApp, including quick device linking, better syncing across devices, and new features like link previews and stickers. The company looks forward to making WhatsApp available to even more devices in the future.
