The Huawei Pocket S foldable phone is a cheaper version of its Huawei P50 Pocket smartphone, and lower in terms of some specifications, especially the camera and chip.
The new Huawei phone offers a 6.9-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2,790 x 1,188 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The phone has an octa-core Snapdragon 778G processor. In addition to the graphics processor type Adreno 642L Adreno 642L.
The front camera comes with a 10.7-megapixel screen hole, similar to the Huawei P50 Pocket. The circular screen on the cover comes under the cameras, and it is of the type OLED and has a resolution of 340 x 340 pixels.
The outer cover houses a 40-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, as well as a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. As for the 32-megapixel sensor in the Huawei P50 Pocket, it has been replaced by a laser AF sensor in the new phone. The rear camera supports 10x digital zoom.
Programmatically, the Huawei Pocket S runs on Harmony OS 3.0, and for this reason, it will be sold initially in China. The phone has an internal storage capacity of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB.
The new Huawei phone, which is 7.2 mm thick when open and 15.2 mm thick when closed, features an ultra-thin and bendable graphite plate for improved cooling capabilities. It contains a battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh and with a fast charging capacity of 40 watts.
The company says: The “wing mechanism” of the phone hinge has opened and closed about 400,000 times in tests to ensure durability. The phone weighs 190 grams.
Huawei will launch the Huawei Pocket S phone in five colors: black, green, blue, pink, and yellow.
The company intends to launch its new foldable smartphone in China at a price equivalent to $ 820 for a 128 GB option, and at a price equivalent to $ 890 for a 256 GB option. Both options will be launched from November 10, while the 512 GB option will be launched next December at a price equivalent to $ 1,028.
