Slack is one of the most popular communication applications that companies use to communicate with their employees, or with other companies in real-time. This application includes text, voice, and video calls. It has more than 18 million daily active users and is used by more than 156,000 companies worldwide.
On Tuesday, Salesforce announced that it had teamed up with OpenAI to integrate advanced ChatGPT artificial intelligence technology into its Slack messaging app, providing new features that help boost productivity by speeding up more work with the new version of Slack.
Here are the most prominent features that will be added to the Slack app and how to get started with the new version of the app:
What new features will be available in Slack?
The ChatGPT features built into Slack will help improve how users communicate with each other, helping them save time while multitasking.
Features will be available to speed up the process of writing and reading messages. Slack users will be able to take advantage of ChatGPT’s famous writing capabilities to compose different messages in seconds.
Users will also be able to quickly access their recent conversations with a personalized summary generated by artificial intelligence. Summaries will be available for both Channels and Threads, to keep you updated on business developments at all times.
On the other hand, the application will have built-in search tools, through which users will be able to access the search capabilities available in ChatGPT to facilitate the drafting of messages without the need to leave the application or use a search engine.
How do you access the new ChatGPT features in Slack?
The new features are currently in beta testing and are not available to users, but will be available to Slack users in the near future. However, OpenAI does provide a ChatGPT app for Slack waitlist that you can sign up to request access to the beta.
Cooperation with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT features into communication applications was not limited to Salesforce. Last month, Microsoft announced a similar step, as it supported the corporate communication application (Microsoft Teams) with artificial intelligence features that provide the ability to write meeting summaries and record notes automatically.
