OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, has announced the launch of the paid version of its intelligent chatbot, ChatGPT Plus, which costs $20 per month. The service will initially be available to users in the United States, to be available later in other countries.
According to the company, ChatGPT Plus offers features that are not available to users of the free version, namely:
- The ability to access the service at any time, especially during peak times when it is not usually possible to use the program
- Faster response time
- Priority access to new features and improvements
The launch of ChatGPT Plus will begin gradually, as it will not be available for registration directly, but the two tasks must register on the waiting list, and the company will send invitations to them to subscribe, provided that the company later opens the subscription to all those wishing.
OpenAI confirmed that its free service will remain available to all users, and stated that its free chat helps it learn more about the strengths and weaknesses of ChatGPT in order to improve it, as it said it had received millions of suggestions about improving the service.
In addition, the company announced that it plans to soon launch the ChatGPT API, which is a set of software interfaces that allow developers to exploit the capabilities of ChatGPT in developing their own applications. It confirmed that it is studying providing the service at lower prices in the future and through plans directed at companies.
It is noteworthy that the company is preparing to launch the fourth version of its ChatGPT-4 program during the current year, which is expected to be faster and provide more accurate answers and a better understanding of user questions.
In a related context, recent reports have stated that Microsoft intends to integrate ChatGPT-4 into its Bing search engine so that results from ChatGPT appear next to the usual search results list. Microsoft had invested $10 billion in OpenAI to take advantage of ChatGPT capabilities to support its search engine, seeking more competition with Google, which dominates the search market.
For its part, Google is working, according to still unofficial news, on its own version of ChatGPT, which will work similarly, and is also expected to be integrated into the search engine results.
