Hu Shubin, the co-CEO of ASUS, a major PC brand manufacturer, said today that the first quarter of next year will be an observation period for the graphics card market, and stabilization should be expected; while the seasonal peak season for PCs and boards is still in season in the fourth quarter, but due to The base period is high, with a double-digit decline compared with the same period last year.
Hu Shubin attended the first member congress of the 17th Taipei Computer Association today and was interviewed by the media after the meeting. Regarding the price increase of CPU and GPU, he said that “it happens every year.” Every generation of products will increase in price because Now those new-generation products are all using newer semiconductor manufacturing processes, ASUS prices will also reflect it appropriately. With the improvement in performance, it is believed that the consumer side can accept price increases.
As for whether the graphics card market has begun to rebound from the bottom? Hu Shubin responded that the product line will be more complete in the first quarter of next year, and each company will definitely speed up the clearance of old product inventory, otherwise, the new generation of products will not be able to connect, so the first quarter of next year is an observation period, and the graphics card market should be expected to stabilize. Look at the inventory level of each board factory.
In response to the situation of the peak season at the end of this year, Hu Shubin said that in the fourth quarter of this year, PCs and boards were affected by the seasonal effect, but compared with the fourth quarter of last year, the performance was still declining. The main reason was that the base period was higher last year. However, this year we can still see the peaks of traditional sales golden schedules such as Double 11, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, but the peaks are not higher than last year.
He further said that it is still believed that the consolidation period of the PC industry to destock will take a few more quarters. Continuing the previous law, it will be affected at least until the second quarter of next year.
