Snapchat is very popular and is a favorite of many. But it may stop working due to a glitch in the Internet or in the phone settings. If you encounter this problem, or you are no longer able to access all the features within the app, you can make use of the following methods to fix the issue of Snapchat stopping working and using it again.
1- Exit the application:
The first way to fix Snapchat has stopped working is to log out of the app and then back in again. Before taking this step, make sure that you remember the password for your account, to avoid the difficulty of re-entering the application, or having to request a password change.
2- Check Snapchat permissions on your phone:
If Snapchat works but there are certain features that you can’t access, such as the inability to take a picture or the inability to use filters. The issue may be related to permissions, i.e. you haven’t given the app the correct permissions to use all of your phone’s features.
To solve this problem, go to the settings to check the permissions of the Snapchat application and make sure that they are all turned on, by following these steps:
- Go to Settings on your phone.
- Scroll down to the list of apps, and tap the Snapchat button.
- Turn on all permissions by swiping the buttons to the right.
Note: Important permissions for Snapchat to work include access to location, photos, camera, phone data, and microphone.
3- Restart the application or the phone:
Shutting down the app and reopening it again may help resolve some temporary technical issues. If that doesn’t work, restart the phone completely.
4- Check your internet connection:
Make sure that your phone has a strong internet connection, and if you use cellular data instead of WiFi, make sure that the cellular data access permission is turned on from the device settings.
As for the connection to the Wi-Fi network and Snapchat, the application continues not to work; Turn off the router for at least two minutes, then turn it back on again.
5- Delete conversations in the application:
If you’re having trouble sending photos or stories to one or more people, deleting conversations associated with the person you want to message may help. But the downside of deleting conversations is the loss of exchanged messages, including stories that you have not seen yet.
To delete conversations in the Snapchat application, follow these steps:
- Open the Snapchat app, then tap your profile avatar in the top right.
- Click on the settings icon located in the upper right.
- Scroll down to the Account Actions section, then click the Clear Conversations button.
- In the friend list that appears, click the (X) to the right of the conversation you want to remove.
6- Update the Snapchat application:
If you haven’t updated your phone’s apps in a while, it’s possible that you’re using an old version of Snapchat that has a bug, or that isn’t compatible with your phone’s operating system. So it’s a good idea to check for an app update or turn on the automatic updates feature through (settings) on your phone.
7- Follow the Snapchat support site:
The official Snapchat support site provides guidance for your specific issue. They can provide solutions for you if you’re having trouble logging into your account if you’ve forgotten the phone number associated with your account or other app-related issues.
